THE HISTORIC HAMPTON HOUSE

We find that each project is a gateway to new growth, fresh perspectives and when we’re lucky, an enriched worldview.

PBLLC had the distinct honor of collaborating with The Historic Hampton House to craft a new brand identity, website, and visual communications strategy, all aimed at propelling this historic institution into the 21st century while continuing to celebrate its rich heritage.

The Historic Hampton House Museum of Culture and Art in Miami Beach is one of the few remaining Green Book sites of the Jim Crow and civil rights eras of the mid 20th century. This iconic establishment severed as a safe gathering place for influential African American figures like Sam Cooke, Sammy Davis, Jr, Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Muhammad Ali, Jackie Wilson, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Malcolm X and Jackie Robinson during a highly segregated chapter in America’s history. Its walls hold stories of music, passion and  resistance,  and have witnessed massive cultural and societal shifts in America. It is an invaluable institution of Black History, and we are humbled by the opportunity to help preserve its legacy and ensuring its relevance for future generations.
