Best In Tent
I love a tented a room. From Napoleon’s wartime campaign tents to Percier and Fontaine‘s rooms for his Josephine at Malmaison, I’m a sucker for striped fabric pulled taut overhead. Here are some greats…

Got Game?
This is what Valentine’s Day gifts look like around these parts. How I find things like this romantic, only those very close to me would understand. Suffice to say my recent and plentiful meals at the John Dory Oyster Bar have brought mounted game fish even closer to my heart. A few great finds including a great vintage Beam’s Choice bottle to add to my collection…
All Bowned Up
For several months I have been working on the remodeling of Bowne & Co. Stationers on Water Street in Lower Manhattan. Bowne & Co. is a full-service printing and letterpress shop with a heritage that dates back to 1775 and a curious man named Robert Bowne. DECODENCE!
This month sees the opening of DECODENCE: Legendary Interiors and Illustrious Travelers Aboard the SS Normandie. Given my passion for all things early twentieth century, it’s been a total joy to work on developing this project with the Seaport Museum!
For those of you who don’t pore over out-of-print decorative arts textbooks and google things like “Japanning techniques” and “lost Jean Henri Riesener pieces”, the SS Normandie was a magnificent ocean liner and the pride of the French Line in the 1930′s. Get the whole story

For Tai Ping, I designed and executed concept-driven, branded exhibition spaces at the Hospitality and Design Exposition (HD Expo) in Las Vegas. From ideation to execution to showroom programming (music, model talent, etc) we curated a completely custom space that brought the exclusive firm’s attributes to life in their signature Eurasian aesthetic. Of the two projects highlighted here, one targeted the Spa design market, and the other targeted the fine interior and hospitality designers. Projects are shown from concept to execution.
